Cardiac Rehab Specialist – bilingual (English and Spanish)

About the Position: ROMTech, through its subsidiary ROMTherapyTM, delivers an innovative, first-in-kind home-based Cardiac Rehabilitation program through the use of telemedicine and connected medical devices. We are now looking for a Cardiac Rehab Specialist to remotely work with our Cardiac Rehab team. The ideal candidate will have high-level expertise in the area of cardiovascular rehabilitation and should be an Exercise Physiologist or have a similar relevant background. The Cardiac Rehab Specialist will provide remote patient care via telehealth to patients in our virtual cardiac rehabilitation program, under the direction of the Director, Cardiac Rehab and Medical Director. This role will integrate components of clinician, educator, and researcher, as they work in a trailblazing environment. This is a work-from-home, full-time opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, assess, treat, and document patient tolerance of exercise via ROMTech virtual user platform.
  • Provide exercise, lifestyle modification, and disease management education for patients and family members.
  • Provide exercise prescription for patients utilizing clinical assessment data, patient status, and current medication regimen, and update prescription according to patient response.
  • Complete all required patient documentation, including ITP and session notes in a timely and HIPAA-compliant manner.
  • Recognize contraindications to exercise, abnormal patient responses, and respond appropriately per protocol.
  • Communicate with the Director, Cardiac Rehab, supervising physician, and other appropriate staff, both verbally and in writing.
  • Interpret patient’s ECG and biometric data efficiently and effectively.
  • Compile current medication list and ensure patients fully understand the reason for and actions of all medications.
  • Provide both personal and user feedback related to product, meeting with the Director, Cardiac Rehab and Product Manager to assist with product development as needed.
  • Assist with development of educational content as needed.
  • Other duties may arise from time to time and may be assigned to the employee.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, or related field.
  • Master’s degree in Exercise in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, or related field not required, preferred.
  • Must be bilingual (English and Spanish).
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in a cardiac rehab program.
  • 2+ years of experience in a center-based cardiac rehab setting required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), First Aid/CPR are required.
  • ACLS certification required. ACSM-CEP and/or AACVPR-CCRP preferred.
  • Must demonstrate a strong ability to multitask, working with multiple patients simultaneously while maintaining standards and taking appropriate action when necessary.
  • Enthusiastic and motivated with strong interpersonal skills; desire and ability to develop patient rapport in telehealth setting.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Organized and supportive of flexibility in working with a team.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365.
  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period.
  • Moderate noise (i.e., phone calls, online meetings, computer audio)
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required.
