Director of Billing

Overview

ROMTech now seeks an experiencedand strategic Director of Billing to lead our billing team. This position plays a vital role in the connection between health care providers, patients, insurance companies and ROMTech’s billing and coding team. The Director of Billing will report to the Vice President of Market Access. The ideal candidate is self-motivated with a high attention to detail.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and train all new billing and coding team members, prior auth and the data entry team members on the daily duties and job requirements
  • Ensure the team is meeting expectations with new billing customers including submitting orders, coding, documentation submission requirements and associated expectations
  • Responsible along with the Vice President of Market Access on reporting company revenue monthly and on an as-needed basis as requested from the C-suite
  • Attend and present training for sales and operations on an annual basis or more frequently if needed
  • Cross check diagnosis, procedure, and Health Care Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) codes in the patient chart against the insurance verification request run on such patient
  • Use a set of established medical codes in order to transcribe the patient history and day of treatment into a bill for third party payors to review, understand and process payment
  • Train new billing customers and team members on all billing, coding, and documentation expectations associated with the ROMTech billing platform and processes

Requirements and Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience managing a billing department in a healthcare related setting
  • Proven expertise in your ability to perform all billing and coding duties such as, but not limited to reading and auditing patient charts to determine medical history, including past diagnoses and treatments given, as well as diagnosis and treatments given on the date of service to be billed
  • Must be professional, confident, enthusiastic, organized and detail oriented
  • A self-starter who takes initiative, exercises good judgment and can work autonomously
  • Resourcefulness, critical thinking skills and a problem solver
  • Ability to work effectively with leadership as well as all levels of staff and clients in a continuously changing, fast-paced, service-oriented corporate environment to achieve business goals
  • Possess excellent medical billing and coding skills and is an effective communicator – both written and verbal
  • Utilizes strong time management skills with the ability to coordinate, maintain and follow-up on several accounts simultaneously
