Position Overview:
ROMTech is now looking for a highly knowledgeable and experienced Electrical Technician to join our growing Manufacturing team. The Electrical Technician will contribute practical hands-on experience with soldering, wiring, and assembling of electrical and electronic components. This is a full-time position based out of our headquarters in Brookfield, CT. The Electrical Technician will report directly to the Electrical Engineering Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Draw electrical interconnect diagrams using AutoCAD Electrical.
- Design and build test-fixtures to aid production.
- Troubleshoot defective printed circuit boards and sub-assemblies to find root-cause.
- Take telemetry data from test setups and create reports during product development.
- Support manufacturing with day-to-day processes.
- Write and authorize rework and repair instructions.
- RMA documentation for vendors.
- Review engineering drawings.
- Building cable assemblies.
- Travel to test labs for qualification testing of products.
- Participate in new product development.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working in the electrical technician field.
- Experience in medical device manufacturing preferred.
- Soldering and handling of electronic components following IPC-A-610 standards.
- Ability to use AutoCAD Electrical, Altium (a plus!).
- Experience in building electronic test fixtures with little to no supervision.
- Capable of reading of electrical and electronic datasheets.
- Understands the concept of flashing micro controllers.
- GitHub or repository control knowledge preferred.
- Lab maintenance and organization.
- Skilled with organization/document control.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Quality focus.
- Microsoft 365 required.
