Senior Cloud Engineer

Location: Hybrid (Remote/Brookfield, CT)

Position Overview:
ROMTech is now seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to spearhead and manage our Cloud presence including the design, build and operation components. The ideal candidate has strong technical and management skills along with great attention to detail. We are looking for someone who is technically sharp, gets technical concepts at their core and is naturally solution-minded. The Senior Cloud Engineer will work a hybrid schedule (coming a few times a week to our HQ space in Brookfield, CT), however, we will also consider fully remote candidates who can commit to visiting HQ at least once a month. In essence, we are looking for someone who has an up-beat, can-do attitude and is passionate about their work.


Responsibilities:
• Review/Design Enterprise Cloud Architecture: Both High-Level and Detailed Designs.
• Identify necessary improvements in the existing cloud architecture to align with the cloud Well-Architected Framework and Best Practices.
• Implement the necessary improvements to the Architecture.
• Research, present and accurately articulate benefits and goals of technologies such as Big Data, Hadoop, NoSQL, Data Virtualization, and Data Services.
• Protect information, systems, and assets while delivering business value by advising best practices for the creation of a secure cloud environment to include SASE and SIEM.
• Ensure that cloud and SAAS architecture aligns with needs.
• Monitor Performance for effective use of Cloud resources.
• Evaluate Cloud Products and Service for impact on architecture and recommend adoption as necessary.
• Ensure continuing ability to scale and optimize.
• Advise application teams on deployment options.
• Oversee Provisioning of Cloud architecture components.
• Ensure development teams follow Best Practices.
• Ensure Architectural standards are followed and adhered to.
• Provide L3 support for Incident management and provide a focal point for Cloud.
• A “can do” attitude and ability to take ownership of assigned work.

Requirements:
• Knowledge of AWS and Azure required.
• Cloud Automation (DevOps knowledge) preferred.
• Experience in Erwin or ER Studio data modeling tools, (ER Studio Preferred).
• Expert in leading large global data migrations and integration efforts.
• Expert in leading technical migration, data integration and consolidation activities from cloud-to-cloud data structures.
• Self-motivated leader with forward-thinking visionary and entrepreneurial thinking to lead the change.
• Understanding of the system development life cycle; software project management approaches; and requirements, design, and test techniques.
