Clinical Leader, Cardiac Rehab

About the Position:

ROMTech is now looking for a Clinical Leader, Cardiac Rehab to lead our clinical team of Cardiac Rehab Specialists. The ideal candidate will have experience building a culture of teamwork and possess high-level expertise in cardiovascular rehabilitation. The Clinical Leader, Cardiac Rehab will also provide remote patient care via telehealth to patients in our virtual cardiac rehabilitation program. This is a work-from-home, full-time opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and coach a team of telehealth clinicians.
  • Participate in the hiring and onboarding of new Cardiac Rehab Specialists.
  • Ensure clinical schedules are optimized by accelerating 2:1+ enrollments.
  • Conduct daily stand-ups with team to ensure the day’s schedule and operational/technical issues are communicated.
  • Conduct weekly team meetings for a deeper review of issues in the field and communicate information from leadership.
  • Participate in weekly cardiac leadership meetings.
  • Build a culture of teamwork, mutual trust, and respect by practicing empathetic, authentic leadership and bringing transparent, immediate feedback to upper management as needed. Monitor, assess, treat, and document patient tolerance of exercise in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) with education opportunities.
  • Function as the clinical team’s liaison towards the development and scaling of your assigned SME. Provide exercise prescription for patients utilizing clinical assessment data, patient status, and current medication regimen, update exercise prescription according to patient response.
  • Recognize contraindications to exercise, abnormal patient responses, and respond appropriately to all situations.
  • Demonstrate thorough understanding of basic ECG and biometric data interpretation.
  • Compile current medication list and ensure patients fully understand the reason for and actions of all medications.
  • Provide exercise, lifestyle modification, and disease management education for patients and their family members.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work without supervision.

  • 5+ years of proven work experience as an Exercise Physiologist or other relevant position.
  • 2+ years of experience in a center-based cardiac rehab setting required.
  • Telehealth experience using virtual patient care platforms preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), First Aid/CPR are required.
  • ACSM-EP certification required.
  • ACLS certification required.
  • All life support certification must be completed through the AHA or American Red Cross.
  • Must have reliable, high-speed internet connection.
