Revolutionary Medical Technology Showcased at AAOS

From March 7-11, 2023, ROMTech® attended the 2023 AAOS Annual Meeting at the Venetian Convention and Expo Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The AAOS Annual Meeting is five days of powerful orthopedic education, innovation, and collaboration. During the event, ROMTech showcased its PortableConnect® technology, a groundbreaking medical device that delivers automated, telemedicine-enabled, home-based physical rehabilitation to patients recovering from orthopedic surgery.
The ROMTech team’s primary goal at the 2023 AAOS Annual Meeting was to introduce the PortableConnect to orthopedic surgeons who have not yet begun prescribing the device.
ROMTech representatives showed surgeons how the PortableConnect works in a series of live demonstrations, in which model patients completed short therapy sessions on the PortableConnect. After witnessing the PortableConnect in action firsthand, surgeons then had the chance to ask questions and learn more about the technology’s numerous features and functions.
Surgeons who learned about the PortableConnect technology for the first time were enthusiastic about how the device could improve their practices. At one point, a surgeon who visited ROMTech’s booth was so eager to integrate the PortableConnect into his practice that he immediately wrote a prescription on the tradeshow floor.
“It is always positive when the PortableConnect generates such an enthusiastic response,” said LeLonnie Savali, ROMTech Deputy VP, Business Development. “It was clear that the team was ready to take advantage of the opportunity. This kind of agility and responsiveness is essential in the fast-paced and competitive healthcare industry.”
As the event concluded, 69 new physicians signed up with the intent to prescribe the PortableConnect. Additionally, the team established four valuable new physician contacts who referred ROMTech team members to their lower extremity partners, recognizing the immense potential of the PortableConnect for a broader range of patients.
Overall, ROMTech’s attendance at AAOS was successful, and many of the surgeons who discovered the PortableConnect at the event began prescribing the device in less than a month. ROMTech continues to push the boundaries of medical innovation, empowering healthcare professionals and transforming the lives of patients with new technology, and is now looking forward to attending the next AAOS annual meeting, in February 2024 in San Francisco, CA.
